ABOUT

I have my USDF Bronze and Silver medals. I have also completed my Bronze freestyle bar.

I have trained horses from completely untouched through reliable riding mounts and Prix St Georges level, learning the most collected movements of piaffe and passage.

I love problem-solving and enjoy working with traditional and non-traditional horses and ponies.   I can ride ponies to 12.0 hands based on my own size. I have experience with previously foundered and maintaining athletic insulin-resistant and Cushing (PPID) ponies and horses in competition successfully. I also have experience rehabilitating horses from injury and also chronic issues, correctly building topline.

I have served in volunteer leadership positions in my local and regional pony club and local and national dressage organizations.

Dressage is for all horses and riders when focusing on the correct basics properly (not going for a "frame".  I believe you need to adjust your vision based on your horses' conformation) to build the gymnastics of the movements to improve the horse.  I emphasize rider position to execute aids correctly and effectively.

I invest in my education by participating in the USDF L program, USDF Trainers Conference, and D4K training for teachers program. I also actively pursue knowledge by participating in continuing education for diet and nutrition at Texas A&M University.

I am recognized as a Physical Strength and Conditioning Coach through Daniel Stewart's Pressure Proof Coaching Academy.  I am currently in the process of completing the Equestrian Sport Psychology course through Daniel Stewart to help clients achieve through their head and their heart.

Evidence-based education is important to me.
Honest communication is important to me.
Training the horse and respecting their personality is important to me.
Teaching clients and adjusting my teaching to their learning style is important to me.

I have previous work experiences in the military, Fortune 100 companies, start-ups, and university research environments in the science and manufacturing areas that provide me with a frame of reference and extensive education in training, teaching, management, and problem-solving.

My assistant instructors truly have the passion and the joy!

It is contagious and creates an ideal atmosphere for learning and growing with horses for all ages. The youngest riders are encouraged and learn to ride with safe horses in a positive environment.

Ruby is certified C2 Dressage and Horsemanship through the US Pony Club and is working towards her HB and C3 Dressage certifications. Zoe is certified C1 Dressage and Horsemanship and is working towards her C2 Dressage and Horsemanship certification. Ruby has also completed her USDF Bronze medal and freestyle bar. Zoe has obtained her first-level scores towards her bronze.

Both are also learning by attending the USDF L program. Both attend two D4K clinics per year under Lendon Gray's instruction, along with instruction from other outside clinicians with a focus on biomechanics (Mary Wanless), quarterly rider position evaluations (Colleen Akins), and other visiting clinicians to our local area (Lauren Spreiser, Claire Darnell, Jennifer Marchand, etc.).  Both also attended the USDF Youth FEI clinic with George Williams.

Meet Circle 3 Dressage
We would have a farm for stray dogs and cats if it weren't for these wonderful horses who are here at Circle 3 Dressage.
